Semigroups of lattice points

I will talk about semigroups of lattice points in R^n and Newton-Okounkov convex bodies corresponding to these semigroups. First, I will describe the main constructions and give definitions of various objects associated with semigroups in Z^n. In particular, I define the regularization of a semigroup and explain why the regularization approximates the original semigroup. Then I explain a connection between the volume of the Newton-Okounkov body of a graded semigroup and its asymptotic growth.
